The default first MIDI keyboard, and the one we hand people who ask which controller to buy: 25 slim keys, eight encoders, four faders and eight RGB pads in a footprint smaller than the laptop it plugs into. The knobs are the surprise — smooth and solid at a level this bracket rarely bothers with.

Analog Lab Intro is included and the controls come pre-mapped to it, so it makes sound on day one. Beyond USB-C there is a proper MIDI out and a sustain-pedal jack, so it can run hardware too.

Black or white. If two-handed parts matter, look at the 37-key version before deciding.

Our take
The small-controller benchmark — the pads and encoders embarrass controllers costing more. Only two reasons to pass: you need full-size keys (KeyLab Essential) or a third octave (MiniLab 37).
