Beyerdynamic Dynamic vocal microphone

A stage vocal dynamic with a tight hypercardioid pattern and a built-in on/off switch — that is the s in the name. The narrow pickup is the point: it hears the singer and largely ignores drums and wedges, buying gain-before-feedback that cardioid mics can't.

It's for working vocalists on real PAs — cover bands, houses of worship, venues where the mic gets handed around and the switch prevents drama between speakers.

Hypercardioid needs aim: sing into the top of the grille, and remember these patterns have a small rear lobe, so park the wedge slightly off to the side rather than dead behind the mic.
