Beyerdynamic M 70 Pro x

Beyerdynamic's spoken-word dynamic for the desk: podcast, streaming, voice-over. A dynamic capsule this close to the mouth picks up you and very little of your untreated room — which is the entire trick, and why broadcast has worked this way forever.

XLR, not USB: it plugs into a real interface, which means it outlives whatever computer you currently own.

Dynamics are gain-hungry, so pair it with an interface whose preamps have some reach, speak close, and it rewards you. If you want detail captured from across the room instead, that is condenser territory — not this.
