A Beyerdynamic foam windscreen in anthracite. The WS series are the factory wind and pop screens for Beyerdynamic microphones, and the number tells you which mic each one was cut for. Slip it over the grille and it takes the edge off wind, breath and plosives without muffling speech.
Foam is a consumable: it tears, it goes missing at every outdoor job, and old foam eventually crumbles into the basket. If your bag holds one windscreen, it effectively holds none — buy the spare before the assignment, not after.
Check part number 419087 against your microphone's accessory sheet to confirm the fit, or send us the mic model and we will check for you.
Our take
We stock several WS sizes and the fit is mic-specific — thirty seconds matching part numbers saves a week of shipping. Anthracite also disappears on camera better than brand-coloured foam ever does.
