The entry point of Edifier's gaming shelf: a wired over-ear headset with a built-in microphone on a 3.5 mm plug. That plug is the feature — it works in a PC, a console controller, a phone, a laptop, anything with a socket, with no batteries, no pairing and no latency.

Expectations, set honestly: this buys a working mic and reliable stereo for voice chat and casual play, not studio sound. Build and padding are what the money suggests.

It earns its keep as a first headset, a loaner for guest players, or the spare that lives in a drawer for when the good one dies mid-season.

Our take

Our cheapest working headset, and honest about it. Buy it as the loaner or the kid's first; the G2 II is the same idea built to be lived with.
