A compact powered pair with Bluetooth, twin RCA line inputs and bass and treble knobs within reach — the R1010BT's near-twin with tone control added.

The job is the same: replace desktop plastic with a small wooden box that makes music sound like music. Shelf or desk, it is happiest within a couple of metres of your chair.

Sold as a pair. Line-level inputs only, so a turntable needs its own phono stage between deck and speaker.

Our take
Coin flip against the R1010BT — take whichever finish suits the room and never look back. If you can stretch, the R1280DB's remote and optical input earn their keep on a TV shelf.
