A powered bookshelf pair with two RCA line inputs and no Bluetooth at all — nothing to pair, nothing to update, nothing to fail.

That makes it the right box for a fixed setup: PC on one input, TV or CD player on the other, volume on the speaker. The MDF cabinets carry the same warm, easygoing balance as the rest of the range.

Sold as a pair. If anyone in the house will ever want to stream from a phone, buy the R1010BT instead and save the argument.

Our take

We rate wired-only boxes for one reason: they work identically in ten years. Treat the big wattage figure on the box with suspicion — it plays like a normal small bookshelf pair, which is all it needs to be.
