The biggest cabinet Edifier puts in the R-series: a three-way powered pair with 144 W between them, in walnut or black. This is a room speaker — floor-standing scale from tall bookshelf boxes.

Three-way matters here: a dedicated midrange keeps voices clean as the volume climbs. Bluetooth plus wired line inputs cover the usual sources, and it will embarrass most soundbars at the job of playing actual music.

Sold as a pair. Give it real furniture or stands and some air; on a desk it is simply too much speaker. Vinyl still wants a phono stage upstream.

Our take

The value pick for a first proper living-room system — more scale than anything below it in the range. Audition the R2850DB only if the room is genuinely large; most are not.
