Edifier's big bookshelf pair: proper wooden cabinets, the amplifier built into one speaker, and every input a living room needs — Bluetooth, optical, coaxial and two RCA line pairs. One power lead, one connecting cable between the cabinets, done.

This is the take-the-TV-seriously option — sized for a real room rather than a desk, with enough low end that most rooms won't miss a subwoofer.

Sold and shipped as a pair. Give them stands or a shelf at ear height and a little breathing room; the remote handles input switching and tone.

Our take
The S2000MKIII above it adds a flat-diaphragm tweeter and balanced XLR inputs — worth it next to a mixing desk, wasted on a sofa. For a turntable-and-TV room this is the sensible one.
