A locking BNC for the digital lines in a serious rig — word clock and S/PDIF runs where a push-fit RCA is the weak link. Rhodium-plated contacts, carbon fiber dressing, sold in pairs so one length of coax gets both ends.

For anyone terminating their own 75 Ω digital cables between DAC, transport or clock. If your gear offers BNC sockets, use them: the bayonet locks, the impedance is right, and the connection stops being a matter of friction and hope.

Our take
BNC is the better S/PDIF connector and always was — the hi-fi world standardised on RCA out of habit, not merit. If both ends of your digital chain have the sockets, build the cable and lock it.
