The upper-middle MP: superfine elliptical tip, boron cantilever, and the damped body treatment of the senior range. What you buy over the MP-150 is composure — less hash around dense passages, detail without a clinical edge.

Moving magnet, so any standard MM phono input drives it — no step-up, no MC stage. Half-inch mount for conventional headshells and arms; fixed-cartridge automatics need not apply. The replacement stylus is the JN-P200, so the body is a long-term resident.

Our take

Worth it over the MP-150 if your arm and phono stage can show the difference; on a stock entry-level deck they can't, and the 150 is the smarter spend.
