    A camera-top shotgun for Sony bodies with the Multi Interface shoe. Audio travels through the shoe — no cable, no battery, nothing to forget — and the beamforming capsule array switches between sharp forward pickup, standard unidirectional and omni from switches on the back.

    It is for run-and-gun video on Sony mirrorless: interviews, events, b-roll where the built-in mics collect wind and handling noise. A noise-cut filter keeps the signal clean into the body.

    The compatibility line matters: it only works in a Sony Multi Interface shoe — no other brand, no cable output, no XLR. Newer bodies take the audio digitally; check Sony's compatibility list for your camera before ordering.

    On the right Sony body this is the tidiest camera audio there is — no cable and no battery beat any spec sheet. On anything else it is a paperweight, which is the whole review.
