Sony's small sealed earbud: proper silicone tips, active noise cancelling, and a soft fitting supporter that braces each bud against the ear so it stays put when you move. This is the LinkBuds that actually blocks the bus.
It suits commuters, gym sessions and smaller ears that flagship earbuds tend to overhang. Calls run through the built-in microphones, and the seal does the real work against noise before the cancelling adds its share. Spend a minute finding the right tip size — with a poor seal, both bass and noise cancelling quietly give up. If you want the opposite — open, aware, nothing in the canal — that is the LinkBuds Clip beside it on our shelf.
Our take
The sensible LinkBuds. Against the WH-1000XM5: the over-ear still rules long flights, but the Fit vanishes into a jacket pocket for half the money. Within the family, this is the one we would take on a plane.
