The controller Arturia builds around Analog Lab, and it shows: sounds browse from the colour screen, and the nine encoders and nine faders are touch-sensing, so the display names the parameter the moment your finger lands. The DAW maps ship actually working.

The keybed is the reason to buy it over the Essential line: semi-weighted with channel aftertouch — a bed you can play dynamics into, not just enter notes on. Twelve RGB pads handle beats and clip launching.

MIDI DIN and USB mean it speaks to hardware as well as USB. Black or white; Analog Lab Pro comes with either.

Our take
The mk3 keybed is the reason to pay the difference over the Essential 3 — aftertouch and real key resistance change how you play, not just what you control. If you only ever step-enter notes, save the money.
