Five octaves of the mk3 KeyLab — the size that anchors a studio desk. The semi-weighted keybed with channel aftertouch, the touch-sensing encoders and faders, twelve RGB pads and the colour-screen browser are all identical to the 49; what you gain is room to split, layer and play two-handed parts without octave-shifting mid-phrase.

Analog Lab Pro is included and the integration is the point: browse sounds from the hardware, and the controls pre-map to whatever loads. DAW control covers the major programs out of the box.

MIDI and pedal inputs make it a hub for hardware as much as software. Black or white.

Our take
For a main studio controller, 61 is the sweet spot — the 49 forces octave gymnastics on anything pianistic, and the 88 costs you desk space. This is the one we'd put in the middle of the room.
