A2DC (Audio Designed Detachable Coaxial) is a push-in coax: centre pin carries the signal, the outer ring the return. It looks mono because each side is — left and right get their own two-pole plug, which is exactly what makes clean balanced builds simple.

A2DC sockets are shallow and the pin is fine. Support the cup, not the cable, when you unplug.
