The critical-listening DT 770. The 250 Ω voice coil is lighter and better damped — tighter bass, cleaner transients — but it needs a proper headphone amp or interface to come alive. From a phone it will sound polite and quiet; that is Ohm's law, not a defect.

Same indestructible build as every DT 770: replaceable pads, spring-steel band, single-sided 3 m coiled cable. Buy once, re-pad for a decade.

Our take
The 250 Ω version wants a headphone amp or a proper interface — from a phone it will sound quiet and thin. Driven properly, it is the tightest and most controlled of the three. Studio fixture for a reason.
