Beyerdynamic Dynamic kickdrum microphone

Beyerdynamic's dedicated kick-drum dynamic: a moving coil voiced for the bottom of the kit, with attack fast enough to keep the beater's click alive over the boom. It takes stage-level SPL without complaint — that is the job description.

Inside the kick, in front of a bass cab, under a floor tom: low-frequency sources that flatten lesser mics. The tailored voicing lands it close to mix-ready before you touch an EQ.

Know that kick mics are opinions by design; this one is pre-shaped. If you want a blank canvas to carve yourself, a flat instrument dynamic is the other route.
