Beyerdynamic's flagship, third generation: Tesla dynamic drivers in a semi-open housing, retuned warmer than the earlier T1s — less laboratory, more listening chair. This is the home headphone of the range, built in Heilbronn for long evenings rather than long sessions.

At 32 Ω it will technically run from a laptop or a phone dongle, but a proper desktop amp is where the money you spent becomes audible — these drivers scale with clean power. If you want an analysis tool wearing this badge, the DT 1990 PRO is the sharper instrument; the T1 is the one you reach for after work.

Quiet rooms only: semi-open means sound leaks both ways.

Our take
Same platform as the T5 — choose by your room, not the spec sheet: alone at a desk in the evening, T1; shared flat, office or train, T5. Working engineers should look at the DT 1990 PRO instead and keep the change.
