Not a synth — a stereo filter and overdrive box built around the Polivoks-heritage filter, the Soviet-era design that snarls where Japanese filters squelch. You feed it something that already makes sound and it gives that sound teeth.

Lowpass and bandpass modes with the original programmable opamps, stereo in and out, and a control input that takes a footswitch, an expression pedal or external cutoff CV. Balanced outputs, so it behaves in a studio as well as on a table.

It has no sequencer and no voice of its own. Bring a bassline machine, a drum box or a whole mix; the Acidbox supplies the acid.

Our take
The honest framing: this is an effects unit, not an instrument. Put a DB-01 or a drum machine through it and it earns the money in one pass — buy the DB-01 first if you need something that makes notes.
