The EMS Synthi idea rebuilt in Riga, second edition: three analog oscillators, a ring modulator and a noise source feeding a digitally controlled patch matrix. Routings that took physical pins on the original take a button press here — and save as presets, which is the whole argument for this version.

Standalone with no keyboard: play it from MIDI (DIN in and thru), from the recordable joystick, or by patching it into an argument with itself. Delay and reverb developed with 112dB sit on the output.

Our take
The presets are the quiet genius — classic Synthi chaos you can actually return to. Sequencer people should buy the DB-01 instead; this rewards the hour you stop trying to control it.
