Furutech's statement male XLR for building balanced interconnects: rhodium-plated contacts in a carbon fiber barrel, silver finish, with NCF — the brand's anti-static crystal material — worked into the housing.

One plug terminates one cable end. A stereo pair of interconnects needs two of these and two CF-602F females, so tally the whole build before ordering.

NCF is the top shelf. The standard CF-601M(R) shares the contacts and the machining for less, and that is where most balanced builds should start.

Our take

Whether NCF's anti-static material is audible is a conversation between you and your system. The machining and contact quality are beyond argument either way; sceptics get those from the plain CF-601M(R) and keep the difference.
