The male half of a self-built balanced interconnect: Furutech's standard-grade XLR with rhodium-plated contacts and a carbon fiber barrel. Standard by their measure, that is — the machining is the point, and the pins seat with a precision stamped plugs never manage.

Solder one to each cable end that feeds an input; a stereo pair of interconnects needs two males plus two CF-602F females. It suits Mogami or Canare balanced bulk wire nicely.

Our take
A Hicon or Neutrik passes the same balanced signal for a tenth of the money — what you pay for here is plating, machining and grip. On a phono stage or a main system feed it is defensible; on a drum-mic loom it is silly.
