Kick-drum dynamic with the low-end already voiced in: attack presence around 4 kHz, weight below 100 Hz. Stand it in the port, push the fader, and the kick sound most rooms want is largely there before you touch an EQ.

For live kits and project-studio drum recording. The stand adapter is built into the body, so it sits low on a short boom without an elbow of extra hardware.

It is tuned for its job — bass amps and floor toms also benefit — but do not expect a flat mic; the voicing is the product. For the inside-the-drum perspective instead, see Beyerdynamic's TG D71 boundary.

Our take
The plug-and-play kick mic: port it, done. The TG D71 lying inside the shell is the set-and-forget rival — the e 902 on a stand leaves you free to chase the sweet spot night to night.
