The MC 930 again — Beyerdynamic's cardioid small-diaphragm true condenser — under a different factory part number. Same mic: body-mounted low-cut and pre-attenuation switches, 48 V phantom power, Heilbronn build.

It is the German workhorse pencil condenser: acoustic guitar, piano, strings, choir, drum overheads. The detail that makes it good also makes it honest about bad rooms — treat the space or mic close.

One is a spot mic. Stereo overheads and piano want two matched capsules, which is exactly what the factory-matched MC 930 set is for.

Our take
Same MC 930, different box code — we list both while stock flows through, so buy whichever ships first. The mic performs above its bracket either way.
