Two of Audient's Class A console preamps, proper monitor control with the ScrollControl knob, and ADAT expansion in a desktop block of aluminium. Read the 10-in figure correctly: two mic preamps on the box, the other eight arriving only when you add an optical expander like the EVO SP8 or ASP800.

This is the project-studio default — one or two sources at a time, recorded through front ends that used to require a console, monitored through dual headphone outputs with real drive behind them.

No MIDI on this one — Audient keeps it simple and spends the budget on the analogue path instead.

Our take
The default recommendation between the starter interfaces and the serious money, and it has earned it — the preamps and converters flatter everything upstream. If you regularly track more than two mics at once, that is iD44 territory; otherwise stop here.
