The big-room sub: a 12-inch driver, 200 W, and reach into the low twenties of Hz. Variable crossover with stereo through, built to sit under midfields rather than desk monitors.

This is for A77H and A8H setups, film rooms, and control rooms large enough that a Sub 10 would be working at its limit. The room matters more than the driver here: below 30 Hz an untreated space will lie to you regardless of what the sub can do, so budget for treatment before you budget for this.

Our take
Overkill under nearfields — the Sub 10 Mk2 or Sub 8 fit those rooms better. Buy the Sub 12 when the mains are midfields and the room is treated to match; anything less and you're paying for reach you can't hear cleanly.
