The compact sealed-front sub for A- and T-series nearfields: an 8.5-inch driver, 160 W, variable crossover with stereo XLR/RCA through and adjustable phase. The sane subwoofer for a small control room.

Its job is relief work: hand the bottom octave to the sub and a small monitor stops straining, which buys cleaner mids at the same volume. Under A4Vs or T5Vs it completes the system; under 7- and 8-inch monitors it adds less, because they already reach usefully low.

Take the phase control seriously during setup — a badly placed sub is worse than none.

Our take
Under T5Vs the cheaper T10S covers the same ground — the Sub 8 earns its place under A-series compacts like the A4V, where the voicing and the compact cabinet match. Either way, placement and phase matter more than the extra watts.
