The mirror image of the X8 IN: ADAT in, eight balanced TRS outputs, 24-bit conversion up to 96 kHz. One optical cable from your interface becomes eight analog sends.

What it's for: feeding outboard compressors and EQs, cue mixes for a tracking session, or a summing rig — without giving up your interface's main outputs. Any interface with an ADAT output can drive it.

Same clocking rule as every lightpipe box: set both ends to the same sample rate before you chase phantom faults anywhere else.

Our take
The unglamorous half of the pair and the one mix engineers usually need first — outboard inserts and cue sends eat outputs faster than anything eats inputs. Synth studios buying the X8 IN tend to come back for this one within the year.
