Everything for a first recording setup in one box: the EVO 4 interface, an EVO SR1 condenser microphone, SR2000 closed headphones, and both cables. Plug in, press Smartgain, sing — the whole chain works out of the box with nothing left to buy.

This is the gift-for-the-kid-who-writes-songs bundle, and it is honest about that job: the mic and headphones are competent rather than remarkable, and the EVO 4 at the centre is good enough to outlast both.

One note: a condenser hears the room as well as the voice. Record in the quietest space available, and expect to upgrade the microphone first.

Our take
The EVO 4 inside is the part that lasts; the mic and headphones are the training wheels. Against Arturia's MiniFuse pack it wins on ease — Smartgain means a beginner's first recording isn't clipped.
