The consumer edition of the DT 990: same open-back drivers in a slightly plusher trim with a straight cable. Big stage, lively treble — the sofa-listening version of a studio classic.

Zero isolation, in both directions: it is open, so the room hears your music and you hear the room. Pads and parts swap like every Beyerdynamic, so it ages in decades, not years.

Our take
Functionally a DT 990 PRO in house clothes — straight cable, softer clamp. If it will live clamped to a studio chair, take the PRO 250 Ω and save the difference; if it lives on a sofa arm, this is the nicer companion.
